About this mod

Strictly rustic...strictly for campers.

Permissions and credits
If you like to go camping in the real world you might enjoy this download for your game. It provides a few elements that I couldn't find in similar mods on the newvegasnexus, so it was made as a personal project that I'm pleased to share with you.

Parlez-vous français? Site de camping - FR Translation by alexh1 now available, excusez-moi, maintenant disponible.

-------------------------------------------------
This camp provides a:
-------------------------------------------------
  • Lean-to wind break or, if you have rainy weather in your game, a very leaky canopy.
  • Buried, though visible, supply cache in case you're completely destitute.
  • Rusty axe
  • Bedroll (activated) - provides well-rested or the see-you-sleep feature with sesom's mod installed.
  • Duffle bag for all your storage needs. :)
  • Chair 'borrowed' from Camp Guardian.
  • Coffee pot (activated) borrowed from 'Ravens Nest'.
  • Cook pot (activated).
  • Replenishing stew (activated).
  • Stump to sit on and one to chop wood on.
  • Log for three to sit upon.
  • Pier lakeside.
  • Lamp (activated) provided at the pier for night fishing.
  • Means to sit at the end of the pier. Gotta look for that log support down low.
  • Boat to row to Callville Bay and back.
  • Few cantankerous critters.
  • Quartet of torches (activated) to toss out to the perimeter to light up any strange goings-on in the night.
  • Nearby access to Camp Guardian's towering lookout post.
  • Campfire (activated) My latest assemblage for one of my favorite set pieces..good for 'campfire crafting' as well.

If it's not listed above it's not there and won't be unless you bring it with you. (See mod recommendations below.)
Fact is this has all you need with the exception of a trusty shootin' iron with some ammo...and I'm guessing you'll be bringing your own clothing as well.

-------------------------------------------------
Which file to use:
-------------------------------------------------
The main file is the one you use for your game. It's cleaned and mastered with FNVEdit. Ignore the warning in FOMM and the mod manager about it having an esm heading, and do NOT change the file or a crash will be your reward for doing so.
The GECK file is the same mod only 100kb bigger without it having been cleaned or mastered - a pure esp file that can readily be used in the GECK for personal changes you may wish to make.

Though made with the solitary courier in mind, the camp is fully companion friendly.

There are no expansions or other mods required for your use of Rathers Camp.

-------------------------------------------------
Issues:
-------------------------------------------------
Only one that I've found is a visual glitch on the activated bedroll. When first using it, and before a save, the bedroll in either of its forms may not immediately appear when activated. All you have to do is turn your field of view away from it and back again and there it will be .. very weird. (I'd changed it out several times but the same thing always happened with this item.) The more you use it and particularly after a save this visual glitch ceases to exist.

-------------------------------------------------
Location:
-------------------------------------------------
It's in the northeast sector, mapmarked just to the west of Camp Guardian.

-------------------------------------------------
Manual Installation: Please save your game before installing any new mod .. unless of course you've NEVER had a problem and don't intend to have one.
-------------------------------------------------
Download the zip file, unzip the file, place the RathersCamp.esp and the meshes folder in the Fallout New Vegas/Data folder as usual, answer "yes" to merging the meshes folders, checkmark in your list of operating mods.
To uninstall - remove RathersCamp.esp and the "campsites" folder that's just inside your meshes folder.

-------------------------------------------------
NMM Installation:
-------------------------------------------------
Click the download button then double click the mod once it's loaded. Done.
To uninstall - double click the mod again. Have I mentioned you should get this utility?

-------------------------------------------------
Highly recommended mods, though not required, for use with Rathers Camp:
-------------------------------------------------
  • Fellout NV by Hattix - Unless you're fond of everything being in shades of grey or green you have to get this one.
  • Enhanced Night Sky for New Vegas by CptJoker - Gives you a good reason to look up.
  • Improved Companion SandBox by Tyron1234 - Great if you're bringing any companions with you.
  • The Backpack by TRoaches and Keleigh3000 (Requires NVSE) - A sorter that also has an option for another camp mattress as well.
  • Realistic Portable Tent by Fee510 - If you have to duck inside somewhere I leveled off enough ground for you to place this ingenious mod.
  • Zombie Apocalypse by Foxtrot - A splendid diversion for trying out your perimeter torches and that shootin' iron of yours.
