Update 8/23/2012: aggression issue should be fully fixed in 1.3

New Vegas has 10 different eggs. This mod adds campfire-crafting recipes to hatch each of the eggs into a very basic follower using a workbench-craftable reusable Egg Incubator.

Each hatching recipe requires: an egg, egg timer, and the egg incubator (which you get back after the recipe is done).

Hatchlings are very basic followers. Activating them toggles follow/wait. That's it.

The initial version will likely need input if certain hatchlings are too weak, too slow, etc. Please provide feedback in comments.

Available eggs to hatch:
  • Ant Egg
  • Fire Ant Egg
  • Mantis Egg
  • Radscorpion Egg
  • Lakelurk Egg
  • Gecko Egg
  • Fire Gecko Egg
  • Golden Gecko Egg
  • Nightstalker Egg
  • Cazador Egg
  • Deathclaw Egg

Egg Incubator recipe:
  • Hot Plate
  • Sensor Module
  • Pilot Light
  • Pressure Cooker

If you don't want to craft the incubator, you can add it with console. xx000DCA is the base item to add, where xx is the load order of the mod.

There are two plugin versions. Only load one:
  • Thorn version, you progressively get more hatching recipes as you complete the egg-gathering quests for the woman in The Thorn arena.
  • Free version, you get all the recipes on load.

No compatibility issues. Doesn't even touch the quest in the Thorn, only queries the quest stage from externally.

1.3 8/23/2012 - Fixed remaining aggression issue toward neutral actors. Adjusted stats (made cazador weaker, nightstalker stronger), and some scale/size.

1.2 8/22/2012 - Improved the wait function. They should now "remember" that they were waiting if you change worldspace. Made some hachlings smaller (like cazador)

1.1 8/22/2012 - Fixed the "aggro radius" AI issue with them attacking neutral actors.
