1. INTRODUCTION

"Feels like I'm gonna break this damn thing!"
-- Agent J

This is a recreation of a famous little movie gun, known for its diminutive, pathetic size belying its absurd over-powerful punch; so over-powerful, that it kicks the shooter back as hard as its target.

True to form, this recreation will mangle your opponent, but also give you quite a little kick. As it also does heavy splash damage, do not use in close-quarters combat!

The Obnoxious Cicada weighs 2... whatevers, requires 1 STR and 75 Energy Weapons to use optimally, does 200 damage in splash, takes at most 10 seconds to replenish to fire again. The weapon can only be repaired via repair kits, does not have any weapon mods, and does not need ammo.

2. INSTALLATION
===============

1) Copy the enclosed ESP and all associated game asset contents to your Fallout New Vegas/Data folder.
2) Open your favorite mod manager.
3) Activate "Obnoxious Cicada.esp".
4) Re-create a Bashed/Merged Patch to ensure the Obnoxious Cicada makes it in as an enhanced holdout weapon.
5) Travel to one of the Hidden Valley bunkers (COC code: HiddenValleyBunker3)
6) Find the Enclave crate.
7) Acquire the weapon and some ancillary goodies.
8) Save the Mojave from the scum of the universe.

3: FREQUENTLY ANTICIPATED-TO-BE-ASKED QUESTIONS
===============================================

1: "Why did you name it Obnoxious Cicada instead of--"
Because I can. Deal with it.

2: "Why is the gun bigger than it appears in the movie?"
There are constraints pertaining to the size of the weapon in the hand. It's still a tiny little thing compared to others.

3: "OW! It hurts when I shoot at close targets!"
Then don't do that.

4: "Why does it take a second to kick me back sometimes?"
I don't know. Typically it seems to do it only the first time in a play session. I guess it has to think about it for a sec.

5: "Why doesn't it kick me back when I use it in VATS?"
I don't know on that either. VATS isn't normal gamemode, so that may be a contributing factor.
