Some time ago, Keven Kidder/sushisquid released the very cool Energy Shields New Vegas mod, found at http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/43680. As you may have predicted from the name, it creates energy shields throughout the game for humanoids.

He created the main ESM that does all the work and two ESP plugins, one for the primary game of New Vegas and one for the official DLC of Dead Money. He originally intended to create some plugins for the other official DLC as well, but as is its tendency, life happened and he hasn't gotten around to it.

The short version for everyone who is interested is that if you have his ESNV mod and the other official DLC, those enemies currently don't spawn with shields. Installing these plugins changes that.

For Honest Hearts, neither the Dead Horses nor Sorrows can spawn with shields due to their limited technology. However, White Legs sometimes will. This may make the final battles more difficult as enemies may have the shield advantage over allies. The New Canaanites, Joshua and Daniel, are also protected by energy shields. This mod had two creatures that I'd consider bosses, Salt-Upon-Wounds and the Ghost of She. They have received 'Boss Shields' as described for the ESNV mod.

In Old World Blues, Lobotomites, Y-17 Harnesses, and robots can now spawn with energy shields. Robots (including cyberdogs) will always have shields, with the exception of the Mister Orderly medical robots for which only the unique version has a shield. Roxie has a companion shield built-in since she cannot use playable shields. This DLC adds a ton of 'boss' enemies: Shadis, Specimen 73, Test Subject 1, Y-17 Master Trauma Harness, Patient Zero, Dionaea Muscipula, Legendary Bloatfly, #27, #34, Stripe, SuperEgo, The Custodian, Construction Drone Foreman, 010011110110111001100101, Ironbelly, X-42 Giant Roboscorpion, RY-589 Ultimo Bot, Dr Orderly MD PHD DDS, Sparks, Overclocked Turret.

In Lonesome Road, Tunnelers, Ghouls, Marked Men and robots can all spawn with shields. As in the main NV mod and the Old World Blues plugin, all robots have integrated shields while the other enemy types will sometimes spawn with shields. ED-E has a built in companion shield since she cannot use playable shields. Bosses for Lonesome Road are Blister, Beast, Bonesaw, Blade, Colonel Royez, Gaius Magnus, Rawr, Tunneler Queen, and Ulysses.

FAQ:
Q: What exactly is this mod?
A: The only thing this mod does is add the ability for ESNV shields to spawn on creatures official DLC areas. The primary ESNV mod already allowed them to spawn in containers. This mod does not add any new unique shields or tweak the way shields work in any way, shape, or form.

Q: Why do you have so many enemies tagged as bosses?
A: In keeping with the standard established in the original mod upon which mine is based, non-human unique enemies should be bosses. I debated whether to include Blister, Blade, Bonesaw, Gaius, and Royez as bosses but in the end decided to do so. Who doesn't love a good boss fight?

Q: Your mod doesn't do anything! You're a hack! Why are you such an awful person?
A: I wish I knew, but I can suggest that you first make sure you have the ESM installed, found at http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/43680.

If you have any other concerns, questions, or problems feel free to post in the thread for the mod or message me. I primarily make mods for my own use, so I'm not trying to start a tech support company that will answer all your computer questions but I'll certainly try to help out where applicable.

Technical notes:
For those of you that want to edit this mod, I followed Kevin's precedent, prefixing the editor IDs of everything with his initials KJK. Additionally, the loot lists for spawning shields on enemies are based on loot lists in his ESM file, so if you were to make changes to, for example, KJKForceList20 in the ESM those changes would affect enemies that rolled loot off that table in the official DLC (which is many of them, as Force shields are the most common.)
