WHY
---
If you're slumming around the Nexus looking for game mods, you're probably like me in that you've played this game enough to know how you like to play. And if you're like me, you get mildly irritated by the game asking you every time you play: "How shall we play a game?". I'm talking about the Hardcore/Casual dialog. Wouldn't you like to set it once and for all. Well, now you can.

WHAT
----
Always Hardcore enables you to tell the game to always start in Hardcore, or Casual if you wish. Optionally, you can have it notify you when it does so. Set it and forget it!

HOW
---
Just download the archive with the desired plugin:

Default Hardcore - Hardcore ON Notice OFF
Hardcore mode is enabled by default, no message is displayed.

Default Hardcore - Hardcore ON Notice ON
Hardcore mode is enabled by default, a message is displayed.

Default Hardcore - Hardcore OFF Notice OFF
Casual mode is enabled by default, no message is displayed.

Default Hardcore - Hardcore OFF Notice ON
Casual mode is enabled by default, a message is displayed.

Then, use Nexus Mod Manager or Fallout Mod Manager to install, or just extract the ESP file into your Fallout New Vegas/data folder. Make sure the file is checked in your load manager and never have to click that pesky button again!

UNHOW
-----
Uninstall with NMM or FOMM or just uncheck the file in your load manager and delete.

WITH
----
A few words about compatibility:

First, with itself: This mod makes a change in a small script that runs once, at the end of character creation. If you somehow load more than one of my plugins, nothing bad will happen; it will just default to whatever the last loaded is. Still, it's a waste of a precious load slot, so don't do that. If you decide to change the default, uninstall the old one and then install the new one. NMM should ask you to "upgrade", and it will do that automatically.

With Roleplayers Alternative Start Fallout New Vegas': RASFNV calls the same script, just a little later, so just make sure Always Hardcore loads after it and it will do what it says on the can.

With The Pip-Boy 2500: This was the inspiration for this mod in the first place. Somehow, it interferes with the vanilla dialog script, you can tell it 'Yes' and it will still set Hardcore to off. If one thing bothers me more than a redundant question, it's being ignored when I answer. But, I couldn't figure out why this happened, so I just decided to work around it. In short, The Pipboy 2500 works better with Always Hardcore than without it.
