About this mod

Goodbye Xbox/PS3 vanilla gunshot sound settings, hello PC Gamer settings.

Permissions and credits
In the best of the vanilla Xbox/PS3 configurations for NPC weapon sounds you have.
(These are NPC's shooting guns at you the player or someone else)

30 feet 100% volume (the good 3D gunshots @ 100% volume)
Beyond 100-200 feet 0% volume (no more good 3D gunshots)
200 to 1000 feet DIST sounds (the crappy gunshots)

I have changed those NPC gunshots so it's not set up for a Xbox/PS3 anymore

64 feet 100% volume (the good 3D gunshots @ 100% volume)
Beyond 800 feet 0% volume (no more good 3D gunshots)
800 to 8000 feet DIST sounds (the crappy gunshots)

This mod doesn't change the volume of any of the sounds. Instead the amount of gameworld where the sound plays at 100% was increased beyond what a Xbox/PS3 could handle, thus PC Gamer settings, because it's not a big deal performance wise to do this on PC.

What happeneds is that you are walking around the wasteland, you don't see anybody, but you start hearing someone fighting. Shooting back an forth. Then depending on if you have surround sound then you are trying to figure out where it is comming from. It can be frightning/fun.

This was playtested last year in 2011 on Fallout 3, but I forgot how fun it was until now. I've been busy making other things. I haven't playtested it for FNV yet, but I doubt anything would change. You could also extend the sounds to include player made weapons, but I don't know where to start.

It's a override, meaning if you install it near last it will override the hundred other mods which changed sounds for one reason or another even if it has nothing to do with their mod. In any case loading it last shouldn't effect anything, just as if you has zero mods that changed sounds, an you loaded this one before other mods.
