About this mod

Easy Caravan makes it easier to get the Caravan-related challenges/achievements by modifying No-Bark Noonan\'s deck.

Let's be honest - Caravan is something of a buggy mess. It used to be broken in such a way that made it super easy to exploit, but post-patches it's much harder. With all the bugs and glitches in the card game, it can be downright frustrating to play it, and you can lose sometimes even when it seems like you should have won.

All I really want to do is play enough Caravan to get the related achievements. With that goal in mind, I made this ridiculously simple mod. What this mod does is, it replaces No-Bark Noonan's Caravan deck. No-Bark lives in Novac, in a shack on the outskirts of town. Instead of his normal card set, he has a deck that consists entirely of 9's and 10's. This makes it impossible for him to create a caravan in the valid range of 21-26. He has no face cards, so he can't mess with your caravans either.

With this mod, as long as your deck is capable of creating "valid" caravans you can beat him easily. The easiest way to win is to make a deck consisting of 7s, 9s, 10s, and enough filler cards to make the lower limit of 30. On your first turn, discard until you have a total of at least 3 10's and 7's, and play either a 10 or 7 on each caravan. Then play a 9, and either a 10 or 7 on each one, so that you end up with 10-9-7 or 7-9-10 on each stack. At this point you should win.

Why create a mod, instead of just outright cheating? I wouldn't mind playing the card game if it wasn't so buggy, poorly documented, and essentially broken. I also don't want to jump through hoops in order to use console commands and still get the achievement. Further, I figured the challenge of modding the game was probably on par with coming up with a strategy to beat my opponents repeatedly.

Also, I think it just sort of "fits" that the mentally deranged No-Bark would be a total failure at Caravan.

Use it if you want, or don't :)
