DESCRIPTION

Container Auto-Sort: is a functionality seen in some house mods which basically allows you to organize your loot into different containers automatically. The basic procedure is to put all the unorganized loot into one container and the container automatically sorting it to the other containers based on their type (Ammo, Weapons, Food etc...). Most popular house mods have their own brand of auto-sorting implemented but this mod takes the idea further by allowing you to construct an auto-sorting system practically anywhere.

Mobile Auto-Sort: is a functionality which allows you to setup an auto-sorting mechanism anywhere as long as containers are available. It allows you to match any container to a specific type. The "Sorting Container" (also can be any container) then sorts anything put into its inventory into the other containers.

WALKTHROUGH

You are going to need a pencil. Not just any pencil, an Extra Dark Pencil. You can buy it from Chet at Goodsprings. Once you have it in your possession, you can scribble on any container by crouching and activating the container. You can scribble (flag) the container as the Sorting Container or any of the types shown below

(+) Ammo Container
(+) Food Container
(+) Drugs/Magazines
(+) Junk Container

Make sure you flag a container as the Sorting Container. As for the rest of it, it's not required to flag all of them. If you didn't flag a container as the "Armor Container" for example, the Sorting container would keep any Armor you put in it (it won't delete it) while sorting the other items. You can also flag the same container with different types. For example, you could set it such that the Ammo and Weapon Containers are set to the same container, this simply means that the weapon and ammo items will appear in that container once sorted. To auto-sort, simply put your loot in the Sorting Container and let it do all the work. Within 5 seconds, the loot would be distributed among the flagged containers.

The Pencil can be sold or thrown away. It doesn't matter. It is only required when you want to "scribble" on something. When you need another simply buy another one from Chet for 1 bottle cap. He would restock it every ~4 days.

WARNING [!]: Please make sure that the container you flag is NOT set to respawn. Your best bet is places like Nipton Motel or the Lucky 38 for safe storage. If you want to know whether a given container is respawning or not, remove its contents, go far away from it (really far). Wait for 4 days and go back and check whether there is anything inside. If there is nothing, you're probably good to go. Otherwise, you need to find another container. If you flag a respawning container, YOU WILL LOSE WHATEVER YOU PLACE IN THERE IN 4 DAYS!

ADVICE: Remember where are the flagged containers. Otherwise you won't know where to get your stuff back from. You may find it easier if you flag specific containers for specific types. Like a fridge for food, a metal box for junk, an ammunition box for ammo etc...

(+) You can now have your own auto-sorting system regardless of where you choose to make your home. Lucky 38? No problem. Nipton Motel? Okey-dokey. Random custom house with a lot of containers? Done!

FUTURE

I do not see any need to update this mod but if there is sufficient demand, I would try to include more features, but only if this gets popular. Also please endorse. Endorsing is your way of saying Thank you and repaying the modders (this applies to any mod you come across, that you like).
