WHAT IT DOES

"All assassins had a full-length mirror in their rooms, because it would be a terrible insult to anyone to kill them when you were badly dressed." -- Terry Pratchett, "Pyramids"

It adds 35 business suits, 14 hats, and 2 pairs of sunglasses, called the Professional's Suit. It's for people who aren't just common killers. It's for people who know the value of a human life, down to the last cent, and always give the customer a receipt.

A kevlar underlay in the clothes and high density polymers in the glasses give it all a bit of damage threshold, but not horribly much. It won't make you a tank, but you might withstand an extra bullet or two if you're detected while doing a sneaky kill. For a fully repaired set that adds up to 15 damage threshold.

The more fun parts are the enchantments. The suit and the hat each give +5 sneaking skill, +5 guns, +5 energy weapons. The glasses give +5% crit chance, +5 guns, +5 energy weapons, and of course they also work as glasses for those with the Four Eyes trait.

The suits are as follows:

1. Dark Suit. The first suit is in the colour and pattern of President Kimball's suit, and the first hat has been retextured to exactly match it. For women, it has a short skirt. (Hey, the fashion in the game is from the '50's.)

2. Grey Suit 1. The second suit is my own texture of black pants and a grey tweed jacket, based on the mesh of Benny's Suit. For this one, women get pants too. (An assassin needs mobility after all.) Kudos go to redhorizon09 for helping me with the fashion part.

3. Grey Suit 2. A version of the same suit with a black satin lapel and a burgundy-and-gold silk necktie. Basically a more formal version.

4. Brown Checkered Suit 1. The third suit has a brown checkered jacket, requested by a Dirty Harry fan. I gave it grey twed pants, since that seemed to match what Dirty Harry was wearing in a screenshot. Not exactly assassin stuff, I guess, but it looks good. This is also based on Benny's suit, so women get pants too. A regular brown hat has been given the same stats as the Kimball one, so you don't have to wear a black hat with it.

5. Brown Checkered Suit 2. Same as above, except with black pants and grey shoes.

6. Brown Suit 1: A clean brown business suit, based on the Benny mesh too. Main reason to use it is if you wanted a brown suit with pants on a female char. (The pre-war business suit has a skirt.)

7. Blue Suit 1: A clean blue business suit, also based on the Benny mesh. As usual for this mesh, women get pants too. A blue hat has been added to match it.

8. Red Suit 1: A clean dark red business suit, with a black shirt, also based on the Benny mesh. As usual for this texture, women get pants too. A red hat has been added to match it.

9. Red Suit 3: Same as above, but with black pants.

10. Red Suit 2: Same as above, but with black pants, black lapels on the jacket, and white shirt. (With a black shirt it was hard to tell where the shirt ends and the lapel starts.)

11. Black Suit: A black suit with black shoes, white shirt and a red tie. (Black tie was making me look like the undertaker, not the assassin. Plus, formal as an assassination may be, it's not black-tie formal unless I'm doing Kimball in;)) Main reasons to wear this is if (A) you want a dark suit with pants on a woman, or (B) if you want a darker dark suit or a red tie.

12. Purple 1: A suit in purple, the colour of royalty and Byzantine emperors, with a white shirt, brown shoes and a conservative brown tie. A purple hat has been added to match it.

13. Purple 2: Same as above with black pants, black shoes and black lapel on the jacket.

14. Green 1: A suit in green with a white shirt, brown shoes and a conservative brown tie. A green hat has been added to match it.

15. Green 2: Same as above with black pants, black shoes and black lapel on the jacket.

16. Silver: A silver (light grey) suit with a black shirt, black shoes, and Kimball's blue and gold tie. For the Family man who takes life seriously. Especially someone else's life. Or for that Consigliere look. A light grey hat has been added to match it.

17. House 1: An outfit with white pants and a burgundy jacket, brown shoes, and a fancy red tie, based on the suit of Mr House in the old photo. The enchantment on it is more "techie businessman" than "assassin", i.e., gives +5 to science, repair, speech and barter.

18. House 2: same as 1 with black shoes and a more conservative red tie, i.e., it matches the photo even better. Same "techie businessman" enchantment.

19. House 3: same as 2 with black pants and lapel. Not particularly matching the photo, but I thought it looks good too. Same "techie businessman" enchantment.

20. House 4: same as 1 with black trousers, shoes and shirt. Same "techie businessman" enchantment.

21. Vlad's Red Suit: A cleaned up and brighter Eulogy Johnes suit, and a matching red version of his hat, for those who want to look more like a certain anime vampire. It's not an exact match for the anime one, but I think it's not too bad either. Plus, a different suit mesh means more choice, right? This one too has pants for women.

22. Vlad's Blue Suit: The same as above in blue. Not particularly vampire-y, but a nice colour anyway.

23. Vlad's Purple Suit: The same Vlad suit in bright purple. Although nowadays that colour is mostly women's wear or "pimp", the name of that colour is "patriarch" and it was originally the colour of royalty.

24. Vlad's Grey Suit: A variant of the Vlad suit and hat that's neutral grey and higher contrast, for people who aim for a less flamboyant look. Or for blond Scotsmen who like to fight with bayonets ;)

25. Vlad's Burgundy Suit: The same Vlad suit in burgundy.

26. Vlad's Brown Suit: The same Vlad suit in brown.

27. Vlad's Black Suit: The same Vlad suit in black, with a white shirt, black boots, and white band on the hat. It has white buttons on the shirt too, but in too bright lighting they may be a bit hard to see.

28. Victoria's Red Suit: Women only. Has a skirt.

29. Victoria's Red Suit 2: Same as above in a less saturated, "brick" kinda red

30. Victoria's Blue Suit: The same as above in blue.

31. Victoria's Blue Suit 2: The same as above in a lighter, more pastel blue.

32. Victoria's Grey Suit: Same as above in dark grey / black.

33. Victoria's Grey Suit 2: Same as above with a lighter grey shirt, basically.

34. Victoria's Brown Suit: The same as above in NCR trooper brown.

35. Victoria's Brown Suit 2: The same as above in a lighter, less saturated brown. Even more NCR-ish.

The hats are separate items, you can also choose to wear a brown hat with the purple suit, or whatever, or no hat at all. Also, you can feel free to mix and match "Vlad" hats with "Benny" suits, or viceversa, if you wish.

Note 1: The black leather gloves from the Ghost Bodysuit mod work well with this mod, even for guys. In fact, especially for guys. So if your character concept includes not leaving finger prints, that's an easy option.

Note 2: I've tried to strike a debatable balance and variability for cleanliness vs ripped/dirty. Personally I like stuff relatively clean, and figure out that even in a post-apocalyptic world SOMEONE out there could scavenge a pack of dyes. Whether I struck a good balance or not, or if I should just remove the stains completely... I'm open to suggestions. Feel free to drop an opinion in the thread if you have one.

Note 3: I know that the Benny Suit mesh isn't exactly form-fitting for women, and makes one look like a bit of a weightlifter. There's not that much I can do, unfortunately. That's the mesh it has. And I don't really have much of a choice for meshes with pants for women. The fashion in the game is from the 50, so not only most suits have a skirt, but actually most of the NV ones turn into a dress (without a jacket or anything) when worn by women. Not that there's anything wrong with a dress either, but it's not exactly hitman outfit. If you want a more feminine shape, I'm afraid you'll have to wear the dark suit instead. On the other hand, I don't necessarily consider it a bad thing. I kinda wanted a costume that said "keep your eyes on the big iron on the hip" rather than "keep your eyes on my breasts" anyway.

Note 4: Note 4: for another look at the options, in better lighting and all, please check Brigand231's gallery here: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/images/95301/? (Thanks, Brigand.)

Note 5: if you prefer the ripped stockings like in the Merc Charmer outfit (the one Gloria Van Graff wears), just grab the meshes from version 1.16 and overwrite the newest version with them. Simply unpack the meshes folder from that archive into your Data folder and click yes when asked if you want to overwrite. I'd still suggest keeping the latest textures, though, for the fixed normal map in 1.17 and later.

HOW TO GET IT

I've given several sets of them to Chet from the Goodsprings general store to sell.

Alternately, you could just lockpick the chest on the left side as you enter his shop and steal the clothes and shades. Chet is a bit of a cheapskate and bought the cheapest locks available, so you can pick them at 0 skill too. Of course, if you steal, you get the usual karma hit.

HOW TO INSTALL IT

Extract the archive, with directories, in your Fallout3\Data folder. Select it in the list of plugin files in the launcher.

NOTE: I see that some people still download the old versions. You don't have to. The newest file contains all you need.

HOW TO UNINSTALL IT

Delete the .esp file from your Data directory. Delete the MProfiSuit directory in your Meshes and Textures directories.

COMPATIBILITY

The container shouldn't conflict with anything, unless some other mod happens to put something in the same place. (But you should still be able to buy the suits even if someone adds something that blocks your access to the crate.)

The dark suit uses the mesh and textures of President Kimball's suit for both males and females, and the "Vlad" collection uses the Eulogy Jones mesh. Since the meshes are not duplicated, any change to them will automatically be inherited by the mod. On one hand, it can be good: if anyone changes either mesh to the Type 3 or Alice body, the change will be inherited by my suits. On the other hand, if anyone does a change that, say, changes the texture coordinates, the results could be pretty ugly.

The other suits use my own textures and an edited mesh. I.e., they shouldn't conflict with anything.

The mod has been checked in FOMM and is clean. It doesn't change or overwrite anything else. So it shouldn't conflict with game settings and changes from any other mod.
