About this mod

A silenced revolver (yes, it CAN be done) and a revolver rifle

Permissions and credits
WHAT IT DOES

It adds a revolver-rifle and a silenced revolver. The guns are fictive, and the only real consideration was kinda fitting the cowboy theme. The details are as follows.

1. A relatively powerful, fictive Vietnamese silenced revolver, based loosely on the Nagant M1895 russian pistol. (Actual suppressed Nagants have actually been used by the Viet Cong in the Vietnam War for assassinations.)

It doesn't actually look much like a Nagant, and you probably wouldn't want a real one anyway, because the real thing could only be reloaded a round at a time and took a long time to do so. As I was saying, it's a fictive gun based only loosely on the real Nagant.

The Nagant M1895 was one of the few revolvers which _can_ actually be silenced, due to a special design of both the revolver itself _and_ the ammo. When firing, it actually does seal the gas gap which makes normal revolver un-silenceable. Nagants have actually been issued to the Cheka/NKVD/KGB with silencers. A silenced Nagant exists in the CIA museum.

2. A fictive 5-shot revolver-rifle. While revolver-rifles are a very popular shape for children's toys and some airsoft guns, actual ones have been few and far in between. Hence me calling this one fictive.

An 1855 Colt revolver rifle has actually been used in the American Civil War, though only a few thousand have been purchased. The gun had an impressive rate of fire for that age, but had one fatal flaw, due to the fact that the chambers of the cylinder were essentially muzzle-loaders _and_ small amounts of powder tended to leak around. The powerful charge produced enough hot gasses through the gas gap, to somethimes ignite the leaked powder, which in turn ignited the other chambers... shooting them into the gunner's left hand which gripped the gun in front of them. Though the commanders eventually taught new (uncomfortable) ways to hold the weapon, with the hand out of the way of a mis-fire, to their men, but the gun was discarded after the war anyway.

The LeMat was another example that saw actual military use, though also in relatively small numbers.

Afterwards, lever action and bolt action rifles proved more popular, so the revolver-rifle design never really caught on.

The in-game one uses .357 ammo. It is a powerful and very accurate weapon.

Being a normal revolver weapon with a gas gap and a powerful round, it can't be silenced.

HOW TO GET IT

I've given them both to Chet from the Goodsprings general store to sell, along with a couple of rounds for them. (In case you have none, and you want to try them right away.) None of them are cheap, though.

Alternately, you could just lockpick the chest on the right side as you enter his shop and steal the guns and a little ammo.

Or, of course, you could cheat and give them to yourself via

- "player.additem xxf6b532 1" - the silenced revolver

- "player.additem xxEFb532 1" - the revolver-rifle

Where xx is the number of the mod in your list, IN HEX, not counting .esm master files.

HOW TO INSTALL IT

Extract the archive, with directories, in your Fallout3\Data folder. Select it in the list of plugin files in the launcher.

HOW TO UNINSTALL IT

Delete the .esp file from your Data directory.

Delete the file Data\Meshes\MExotic and Data\Textures\MExotic, starting from your Fallout3 directory.

CONFLICTS

It shouldn't conflict with anything, unless some other mod happens to put something in the same place.

It _is_ compatible with all known mods that change AP, weapon spread, weapon damage, condition-to-accuracy modifiers, etc.
