Not too long ago, I posted a story on the Fallout 3 Nexus titled A Lesson In History and which turned out to be a fun, rewarding experience, made so much better by the people who followed along and encouraged me. Thank you! The story ended, however, at a point where I felt I was done with it, and that was partly because another concept was taking root in my mind.
The protagonist of ALIH, Kate Murray, was my reworking of her as a character to fit into the Lone Wanderer's shoes, but she was never meant to be the Lone Wanderer, or even the Courier.
Recently, I've decided to tell her real story, beginning with her childhood years at the Brotherhood of Steel headquarters in the state of Oregon and exploring the events which followed, events which share certain elements in common with New Vegas' storyline (but do not revolve around it) and you'll see a couple of familiar faces as well along the way, together with many who you do not yet know.
...this is how it all began.

I'm guessing it might be an odd sensation, looking from where the story has gotten back to the beginning, huh?
And it IS strange going back to the beginning, I have re-read the whole thing twice myself to see how it reads as a full story - it made me spot things I wish I'd have done differently but overall I'm pleased with it.
deshaz - thanks for stopping by! Indeed, little Kate had a rather overinflated opinion of her own cleverness, as well as a bit of a mischievous streak
Sorry I'm so late to the party, I also do not frequent here very often, I'll have to change that.
Good start to the story, young Kate is quite smart but not as smart as she thinks she is.
